When the bed arrived, we discovered we had to assemble the thing. The side cabinets were not included, and the trim molding for the top was not included, and had to ordered. We eventually decided we'd go ahead and buy the side cabinets, an additional $2,000+.

Assembly was not a real problem, but could have been for someone not accustomed to building, or not having the right tools available.

On the plus side, the thing is pretty well made of plywood, with a wide selection of veneers and colors. The side cabinets did come assembled.

We expected a quality, furniture style bed and got a put-together.
